I'd like to introduce to you the "Press Release Media Gallery" feature.  It looks something like this on the full article display page (pardon the Latin placeholder copy).  The thumbnails are hyperlinked and will either pop open the low resolution image or relocate the user to the video display page to watch the clip.

The goal of this new feature was to allow the admin to easily assign images and video they had already uploaded into the newsroom via the Video and Image tools to their press release and have them packaged nicely to the left of the article.  This not only makes it very easy for a journalist to view any images and video that may support your press release, but it also keeps the display in a consistent format...which makes everyone look good ;) winner winner chicken dinner!

How It Works

The press release tool has a separate popup very similar to the "Related Assets" popup, which allows the admin to choose from the newsroom's list of images and video by the media's title and not the file name.  If you are constantly uploading images with odd file names that are impossible to find later for embedding into the body of the press release....this may be a perfect fit for you!

It looks something like this on the press release tool:

When you click the "Add/Remove Media Items" link, a popup will appear that looks something like the following screenshot.  You are presented with a list of all images and video currently in your newsroom media library.  From here you can easily hand pick certain ones that should be included in the gallery of your release.  There are additional filters on this popup to narrow the list down should your newsroom's library size begin to compare to your daughter's best friend's facebook page.

This eliminates the need to add media into your article body via the content editor (I can see you smiling from here.)
